Brechin Bike & Trike Fest
As a new business in Brechin, we loved getting out to the Brechin Bike & Trike Fest, a fantastic free, family-friendly event celebrating Brechin’s motorcycling heritage. It was wonderful to see so many local people coming together, enjoying the day and supporting the event. We loved meeting this hairy fella!

1st Facebook LIVE
We went LIVE on Facebook for the first time. A little milestone for us as we stepped outside our comfort zone, introduced ourselves properly and gave you a peek behind the scenes at The Dress Rental Co. We’re definitely getting braver!

Summer’s End Angus Festival
This summer saw something very exciting happen right here in Brechin - the first-ever Summer’s End Angus Festival! We got into the festival spirit at The Dress Rental Co. by bringing in a selection of festival garments from EDIT and giving our shop window a festival makeover, complete with beautiful festival florals. As a new Brechin business, we loved seeing our town buzzing and being able to play a small part in such an exciting first for the community.

Repurposing damaged garments
We’ve been experimenting behind the scenes with ways to repurpose unwanted garments rather than letting beautiful fabrics go to waste. One of our ideas is transforming leftover and waste fabrics into twilly scarves - currently working on the designs and hope to have our very own repurposed twilly scarves available to purchase in the future. It’s a little project that brings us back to something we really believe in — bringing care and connection back to fashion.

From scarves and belts to hats and bags, we’ve introduced pieces that can add the perfect finishing touch to your outfit and become part of your own wardrobe. Alongside our dress rental collection and our range of rental fascinators, hats and bags, it’s another exciting step in growing what we offer.

Laurencekirk Gala
We were delighted to exhibit at Laurencekirk Gala Day this summer. It was a lovely opportunity to get out of the shop, meet local people, showcase a little of what The Dress Rental Co. has to offer and connect with the wider community. As a new local business, we’re really enjoying getting involved in events across the area and meeting so many wonderful people along the way.

Sip Shop & Discover with Rachael from Rachael Murray Coaching
One of our favourite milestones so far was hosting our very first Sip, Shop & Discover with Rachael Murray Coaching. Rachael joined us for an evening exploring the fascinating connection between wellbeing, confidence and the clothes we choose to wear, including how our mental health and emotions can influence our fashion decisions. Guests also had the opportunity to discover ear acupuncture, with Rachael explaining how it can be used as a wellbeing tool. It was the perfect first event - bringing fashion, wellbeing and community together in one beautiful evening.

We loved seeing Hayley looking absolutely gorgeous in one of our Premium Collection dresses - a stunning yellow House of CB dress! Sip Shop & Discover with Jade from Next to You Lingerie
Our second Sip, Shop & Discover evening was a wonderful night with Jade from Next To You Lingerie. Jade shared her expertise on finding the perfect lingerie fit, body confidence and feeling comfortable in what you wear underneath your clothes. She also gave us an insight into what inspired her to take over the lingerie business. With advice, conversation and a fitting demonstration, it was another lovely evening bringing fashion, wellbeing and community together at The Dress Rental Co. Thank you to Jade and everyone who joined us!

The 1st Dress Rental Co. Fashion Show and Afternoon Tea
What a milestone this was for The Dress Rental Co. — our very first Fashion Show & Afternoon Tea at The Barn at Charleton Farm. We brought our latest collection of dresses for hire to the catwalk, alongside an afternoon filled with fashion, afternoon tea, cocktails, live music, local businesses and wonderful company. We were incredibly proud to bring our vision to life and share an afternoon that was about so much more than dresses — community, connection and celebrating fashion in a more considered way. The event also helped us raise awareness for MISS – Miscarriage Support, a cause close to our hearts. A huge thank you to everyone who came along, supported us, exhibited, walked in the show, performed, volunteered and helped make our first fashion show so special.

Ballogie House Wedding Exhibition - launch of DRCo. White Collection
We were delighted to exhibit at the Ballogie House Wedding Exhibition, where we launched The Dress Rental Co. White Collection. Created for all the special moments surrounding a wedding — from engagement celebrations and hen parties to bridal showers, rehearsal dinners and pre-wedding photoshoots and events - the collection brings beautiful white looks to occasions beyond the big day. It was an exciting new chapter for The Dress Rental Co. and our growing wedding offering.

Our 1st YouTube Guest
We’re so excited to share Episode 2 of our YouTube series, featuring the lovely Mhairi from The Luminous Method. We chat about skincare, motherhood, business, self-discovery and the importance of making space for yourself again - from Mhairi’s journey starting her business in 2016, to motherhood and returning with a whole new perspective.
